Mark Johnson, the NC Superintendent of Public Instruction, began his NC Education & Innovation Tour. Johnson pledged to hear directly from teachers, parents and the community at various stops across North Carolina.
The tour is not open to the public, but he may meet with the media after some stops.
NCDPI released news on the second stop, just one day in advance:
Mark Johnson, the NC Superintendent of Public Instruction, will hold several events in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools on Friday, Feb. 17. The day will begin with a Love the Bus event at Ridge Road Middle School to recognize bus drivers and transportation staff during School Bus Driver Appreciation Week. Johnson will also visit West Charlotte High School in Mecklenburg County on Friday as part of his NC Education & Innovation Tour. Earlier this year, Johnson pledged to conduct a listening tour to hear directly from educators, parents, and community leaders across North Carolina.
The following NC Education & Innovation Tour stop was this year’s Home Base Symposium, Feb. 22-24, at the Sheraton Greensboro at Four Seasons/Koury Convention Center, where Superintendent Johnson delivered the keynote address on Feb. 22 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
