Join the 1840 Cornerstone Society: Our Annual Giving Program

1840_logo

The 1840 Society is Public School First NC’s membership program honoring North Carolina’s long tradition of excellent public schools. The founding of our first public school in 1840 laid the cornerstone of our state’s democracy. Enshrining the right to “a general and uniform system of free public schools … wherein equal opportunities shall be provided for all students” in our state constitution made our state an educational leader and has driven our vibrant civic life for almost two centuries.

The work of the past is our present and our future. We are working to guarantee that North Carolina lives up to its constitutional promise to every generation.

Each year, The 1840 Society will recognize and celebrate our state’s pledge to give our children a free, high quality public education. We invite you to join the1840 Cornerstone Society. Your annual contribution will help us build on our proud public school legacy and ensure a rich future for all of the people of North Carolina.

We invite you to join the 1840 Cornerstone Society. If you wish to join at any of these levels, please click on the button below and enter your desired contribution.
